About Me

I am Evelyn Chapman and I am a member of various organisations.

I am a Member of the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers Qualified with an Advanced Certificate in Techniques of Instructing, Administration and Organisation. I am a Fellow, Director and a member of the Board of Governors.

I am a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers having qualified with them some years ago.   I am on their team of Instructor Assessors who assess applicants applying for Membership of the Association.

I joined the Guild of Dog Trainers in 2014 and am most impressed with what they have to offer members.

I am working towards accreditation with KCAI.

I truly believe that learning never stops, either for us or for the dogs, and that all learning should be done in as close to a stress-free environment as can be managed.

Dogs need to be taught WHAT to do and should be rewarded accordingly. It is unfair to reprimand a dog if it doesn’t understand what is actually required of it.

I do not use Check Chains (Choke Chains) and haven’t used them since the 1990’s.

I like my classes to be fun. I believe that if the handler and the dog are enjoying themselves, it helps learning to take place.
